Welcome to Trendrr. Here are some tips to help you navigate the site and get the most out of all of the features available. Also, please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or you come across any bugs on the site.
Navigating the Site
Along the top row you will find the official Trendrr blog as well as a link to the list of recent, popular and then most discussed trends.
Along the left hand column your personal icon appears alongside links to your inbox, list of friends, account information, and personal blog. Additionally users can add new data to their account here as well as view the different inputs they are currently tracking (‘my data’).
Also located here is the link to contact us. Please feel free to let us know of any bugs you come across while on the site as well as any suggestions you may have. Updates are being made every day and your input is critical in helping us make Trendrr better.
Adding Data
Click the 'start tracking' link to the left of your screen. Next click the 'Add' button next to the Data Source you would like to use to track an input. For news stories and blog posts, phrases can be entered in quotation marks.
For example, if you'd like to track the number of blog posts with the phrase 'Spider Man' it would be entered as "Spider Man". Additionally if you'd like to track blog posts that include the terms 'Spider Man' and 'horrible movie' it would be entered as "Spider Man"+"horrible movie".
If you'd like to track a video simply add the URL for that video (not the embeddable URL) into the corresponding box for the video site where that video is hosted (all videos URLs must be entered into the box for the video site where that video appears). If you don't see a video site listed that means Trendrr is unable to track that particular video at this time. However additional Data Sources are added all the time.
Scratchpad - Comparing Graphs
If you see multiple graphs that you’d like to compare in an overlay form (one graph on top of another) simply drag the graphs into the same window of the scratchpad (located on the right side of the screen).
From there by clicking on the options button you can customize the date range of your newly customized graph as well as the title and then save the graphs (once the graph is saved you can click on the ‘customize’ tab located on the bottom of the graph. From there the drill down page allows you to change the type of graph (area, line, scatter) as well as all of the aforementioned features. Additionally the data can be exported into excel, XML or JSON format.
Customizing Graphs
Clicking on ‘customize,’ located on the bottom of the graph, will bring you to the graph drill-down page. Here you can change the date range, type of graph, as well as the title of the graph. The data can also be exported to excel, XML, and JSON.
You can also tag the graph, add comments, or even bookmark the graph to delicious, reddit, or digg.
